About Saron *

Saron (they/them) was born in rural Northeast Georgia in the early ‘90s. Their journey with art began in early elementary school when their parents chose to homeschool them for second and third grade. Saron began art lessons with their Granny, who was also a gifted gardener and a lover of flowers. That experience was the beginning spark of Saron’s love for botanical art!
Saron’s art journey as an adult began with an interest in digital art. They were very inspired by the work of Jen Zee of the Hades game, as well as the work of Rachel Smythe of Lore Olympus. In the last year, they have transitioned to primarily traditional art mediums, particularly watercolor and pen + ink. Saron’s work regularly features flowers, herbs, and other botanicals, usually with heavy inspiration from Greek myth, general folklore, and queer and feminist history.
Saron is a regular at JordanCon in Atlanta and can be found as both an attending artist and the manager of the Art Show. Saron can also be found at various artist and maker’s markets around Athens, Georgia.
In addition to art, Saron graduated from the University of Georgia School of Social Work with their master’s in social work in 2021 and currently practices as a mental health therapist at a private practice in Athens Georgia.
